Jessie Amos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alex Félix, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 5 minutes, Stewart Shaver mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Charlotte FC and the Matadores FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Carlos Valle charged in rather forcefully in the 10th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Carlos Valle the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Charlotte FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Matadores FC the free kick. After 21 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Charlotte FC! Matadores FC's Rafa Hoffmann got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Terence Quinn received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Paulo da Silva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 29 played minutes Charlotte FC got a freekick which was hit by Wade Stacy. 33 minutes into the match, Olavo Barbosa notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Charlotte FC's Jessie Amos. Jessie Amos was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Alex Félix fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jessie Amos having to interfere. The supporters of Matadores FC booed when Charlotte FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Terence Quinn didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jessie Amos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alex Félix in the 45th minute of play. Alex Félix sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Wade Stacy to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 63rd minute, Carlos Valle left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Matadores FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4. Jessie Amos made a fantastic save in the 67th minute, when Alex Félix sent off a good shot on target. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Matadores FC's Olavo Barbosa in the 70th minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Jessie Amos was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Charlotte FC through an amazing save. In the 80th minute, Matadores FC's Olavo Barbosa dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-5. In the 87th match minute, Matadores FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Olavo Barbosa to maneuver through the defense. Olavo Barbosa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jessie Amos having to interfere. Carlos Valle kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. A collision led to Charlotte FC getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Genaro Zepeda hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Wade Stacy managed to get in a good position for a shot. Charlotte FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Wade Stacy was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Paulo da Silva breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Matadores FC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
