But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Erwin Lanting couldn't finish the play. Jens-Ola Mellberg was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Olof Rijaard showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 19 minute of play. Erwin Lanting went to the cornerflag to take it. Mats Dahlberg thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Jens-Ola Mellberg, a very annoying self made goal in the 76th minute which led to 2-1.
