In the 37th minute, Erwin Lanting made a precise shot to the right of Tomás Alfonso. 17 de enero team's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. In the 39th minute, Ladislao Nuno hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 40 minutes into the game, De Kasteelheren's Olof Rijaard nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Tomás Alfonso made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4. Primitivo Dominic sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 47 played minutes De Kasteelheren got a freekick which was hit by Sjef Klein.

In the 53rd minute, Olof Rijaard ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tomás Alfonso was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-5. Tomás Alfonso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlo Bosstraeten in the 61st minute of play. In the 62nd minute, Erwin Lanting reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Tomás Alfonso. The goal made the score 1-6. After some careless play in the 17 de enero team defense, Carlo Bosstraeten kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tomás Alfonso. The 17 de enero team fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tomás Alfonso should have stopped the shot. 71 minutes into the match, De Kasteelheren's goal looked a bit too open when Blas Eusko came free, but Bernard Mülder reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 72nd minute, 17 de enero team's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Olof Rijaard fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post.
