Ramon Urbez hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. After 6 played minutes El Stradivarius got a freekick which was hit by Marcos Daunte. Curcio Torres charged in rather forcefully in the 7th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Curcio Torres the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 8th minute, Curcio Torres hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 16 minutes into the game, PERSPOLIS's Jaizki Lacorte nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Melchor Medero made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Virgilio Marcilla showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ramon Urbez in the 20th minute of the match. Clodoveo Iago hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. Melchor Medero showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Curcio Amer, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Jaizki Lacorte received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Melchor Medero tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ramon Urbez scored 1-1 in the 29th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Virgilio Marcilla, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Virgilio Marcilla showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ramon Urbez in the 32nd minute of the match. With 36 minutes on the clock, Clodoveo Iago commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After 38 played minutes, PERSPOLIS's Maurino Acedo shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Melchor Medero came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in PERSPOLIS reached it. After 40 played minutes PERSPOLIS got a freekick which was hit by Jaizki Lacorte. Guter Lama kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. Virgilio Marcilla stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ramon Urbez's shot from short distance in the 46th minute.

Virgilio Marcilla showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ramon Urbez, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. The referee ignored El Stradivarius's protests and gave Moises Sauveur a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to PERSPOLIS getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Donatello Incera hit a great ball. In the 85th minute, Ramon Urbez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jaizki Lacorte hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. Ramon Urbez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Virgilio Marcilla tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. PERSPOLIS played a much better game than El Stradivarius and deserved their victory. The El Stradivarius players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
