The supporters of BK Skjold booed when Progresul Pitesti was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dragoş Oloieru didn't get a good kick on the ball. Victor Ciociu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Kevin Djurholt's shot from short distance in the 25th minute. Costică Lupeanu's late challenge caught a BK Skjold's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Costică Lupeanu helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Progresul Pitesti getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Costică Lupeanu hit a great ball. Victor Ciociu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kevin Djurholt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, George Buteanu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Progresul Pitesti's supporters rose to their feet, but George Buteanu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cristian Romsbøge breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In a very dangerous position, a player in Progresul Pitesti fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 39th minute. Penalty! Victor Ciociu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Folmer Valdæk in the 45th minute of play. 46 minutes into the game, Kevin Djurholt cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Victor Ciociu was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dragoş Oloieru stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Cristian Romsbøge showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Horaţiu Manafu in the 54th minute of the match. Victor Ciociu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kevin Djurholt in the 59th minute of the match. Horaţiu Manafu took the ball and in the 61 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cristian Romsbøge. Cristian Romsbøge dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Edgar Gribsvad received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Victor Ciociu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 93 played minutes BK Skjold got a freekick which was hit by Egil Østerdal. Cristian Romsbøge made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dragoş Oloieru in the 94th minute of play. Progresul Pitesti were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of BK Skjold for a fine match.
