In the 7th minute, Dragoş Oloieru ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Wellington Baiano was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Sílvio Cordeiro's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Victor Ciociu firmly grabbed it by the left post. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Sílvio Cordeiro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ekzema F.V.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Sílvio Cordeiro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Victor Ciociu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Victor Ciociu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Murilo Paes in the 18th minute. Wellington Baiano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Horaţiu Manafu in the 22nd minute of the match. Ekzema F.V.'s Wellington Baiano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by George Buteanu in the 45th minute of play. Horaţiu Manafu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wellington Baiano having to interfere. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Murilo Paes made a kick off. Murilo Paes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Victor Ciociu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Murilo Paes's shot from short distance in the 55th minute. In the 57th minute, Murilo Paes ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Victor Ciociu was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. 65 minutes into the match, Márcio de Mendonça notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Progresul Pitesti's Victor Ciociu. Victor Ciociu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 68 played minutes, Ekzema F.V.'s Duda Lago shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Victor Ciociu came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Ekzema F.V. reached it. Horaţiu Manafu's late challenge caught a Ekzema F.V.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Horaţiu Manafu helped the player get up and apologised. In the 69th minute, Horaţiu Manafu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Victor Ciociu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Márcio de Mendonça in the 72nd minute of play. When the match clock showed 73 minutes, the score became 4-1 when Murilo Paes sped through Progresul Pitesti's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Victor Ciociu. Toader Macavei charged in rather forcefully in the 91st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down.
