In the 6th minute, Graham Long got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Brad Delaney received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Geovanni Ferreira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Niall Deacon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Henrique Antunes in the 10th minute of the match. A collision led to The Beatles getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Clemente de Castro hit a great ball. Staffordshire Terrier FC were awarded a corner in the 20th minute after The Beatles's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Pedro Warnett took the corner. Tomás Maia might have been able to make a better finish in the 21st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Niall Deacon. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tomás Maia ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jon Webster in the 24th minute of play forced The Beatles's goalkeeper Geovanni Ferreira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 26 minutes into the game, Graham Long cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Geovanni Ferreira was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The Beatles's César Quintal got his second yellow card of the match in the 33rd minute. The referee ordered César Quintal off the ground. In the 33rd match minute, The Beatles was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by César Quintal to maneuver through the defense. Niall Deacon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Henrique Antunes, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. Jeff Weir kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. In the 45th minute of the match Henrique Antunes sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Niall Deacon skillfully saved the ball. In the 46th minute Graham Long shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Geovanni Ferreira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Henrique Antunes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Niall Deacon having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Henrique Antunes was the one to do the kick off. Henrique Antunes charged in rather forcefully in the 51st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Henrique Antunes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Staffordshire Terrier FC booed when The Beatles was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Henrique Antunes didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 52nd match minute, Staffordshire Terrier FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jon Webster to maneuver through the defense. If Henrique Antunes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Beatles's Geovanni Ferreira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Graham Long in the 62nd minute of play. 64 minutes into the match, Graham Long dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Geovanni Ferreira, 0-2. Niall Deacon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sandrinho Alcântara in the 72nd minute of play. In the 79th minute, Jon Webster got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Geovanni Ferreira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Graham Long in the 81st minute of the match. Henrique Antunes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Niall Deacon having to interfere. When Jon Webster came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the Staffordshire Terrier FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jon Webster couldn't finish the play. Staffordshire Terrier FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
