That made the score 1-0 after 6 minutes of play. Jeremias Guifre took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ciriaco Gaitano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jeremias Guifre stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Felipe Emmanuel's shot from short distance in the 9th minute. When Matias Eli came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Florida Gulf Coast fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Matias Eli couldn't finish the play. Esteve Harkaitz kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. If Ciro Corderun had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felipe Emmanuel in the 24th minute of play forced Florida Gulf Coast's goalkeeper Jeremias Guifre to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, INTER de Córdoba's Justo Lesardo got a free kick in the 26th minute. 2-0 became the score in the 28th minute when Arsenio Emenon elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. With a little luck, INTER de Córdoba's Aquiles Erruki got control of the ball when Ciro Corderun tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ciro Corderun received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Aquiles Erruki came out and tried to block the shot, but Ciro Corderun slotted it home off the left post making it 5-0 in the 46th minute.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Arsenio Emenon to make the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in INTER de Córdoba's zone, Arsenio Emenon stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aquiles Erruki came out of the goal and Arsenio Emenon tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Mateo Gentza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aquiles Erruki showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arsenio Emenon, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. There was no doubt that Florida Gulf Coast were the better team. Florida Gulf Coast's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
