The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ciro Corderun received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Ahto Ainsaar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Maximino Afonso fell near the penalty area in the 27th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Florida Gulf Coast's protests and gave Maximino Afonso a yellow card for diving instead. In the 27th match minute, Florida Gulf Coast was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Maximino Afonso to maneuver through the defense. 29 minutes into the match, FC Hugo's Voldemar Veevo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jeremias Guifre narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Elmar Koppelmaa kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. Placido Abilio hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. Virgo Rammu's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Jeremias Guifre firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 35th minute, Kusti Olev hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the FC Hugo defense, Placido Abilio kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ahto Ainsaar. The FC Hugo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ahto Ainsaar should have stopped the shot. Juhan Laik scored 1-1 in the 42nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jeremias Guifre, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Juhan Laik to make the kick off. After 53 played minutes FC Hugo got a freekick which was hit by Elmar Koppelmaa. Mateo Gentza kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. In the 61st minute of the match Voldemar Veevo sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jeremias Guifre skillfully saved the ball. Ahto Ainsaar made a fantastic save in the 64th minute, when Arsenio Emenon sent off a good shot on target. In the 66th minute, Florida Gulf Coast's Arsenio Emenon ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Ahto Ainsaar. Ahto Ainsaar yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-2. FC Hugo's defense didn't have a chance, in the 69th minute, when Arsenio Emenon scored to the left of an out of position Ahto Ainsaar, making the score, 1-3. Ahto Ainsaar made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ciro Corderun in the 71st minute. Placido Abilio struck a weak shot in the 74th minute. Ahto Ainsaar didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Florida Gulf Coast. Ahto Ainsaar didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 76th minute, which inside left pole to 1-4. Ciro Corderun could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 79th minute of the match, but Ahto Ainsaar made a huge save. 88 minutes into the match, FC Hugo's goal looked a bit too open when Arsenio Emenon came free, but Ahto Ainsaar reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Arsenio Emenon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Florida Gulf Coast eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
