The supporters of Liga de Quito booed when Nye was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kalle Boberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 8th minute of the match Rodas Crisol sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Markus Albäck skillfully saved the ball. After a rather tough play, Nye's Sivert Josefsson got a free kick in the 8th minute. After 10 minutes of play, Liga de Quito's Ponce Bollo made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Markus Albäck was left in no man's land by his defense there! Markus Albäck showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eduardo Mascareñas, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. 15 minutes into the game, Ponce Bollo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Markus Albäck was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a rather tough play, Nye's Kalle Boberg got a free kick in the 18th minute. When Philip Hedvall came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Nye fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Philip Hedvall couldn't finish the play. With an all-out effort, Nye's Jairo Collador threw himself towards the right post 26 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Philip Hedvall, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ponce Bollo in the 28th minute of play forced Nye's goalkeeper Markus Albäck to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 28th minute, Ponce Bollo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Markus Albäck was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. Markus Albäck showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Urrutia Tacon, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eduardo Mascareñas in the 36th minute of play forced Nye's goalkeeper Markus Albäck to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Yoelvis Villarias fell near the penalty area in the 37th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Liga de Quito's protests and gave Yoelvis Villarias a yellow card for diving instead. Yoelvis Villarias kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. Per Västerstrand's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jairo Collador read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. After 44 played minutes Liga de Quito got a freekick which was hit by Rodas Crisol. After 46 played minutes, Nye's Erik Hamberg shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Jairo Collador came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Nye reached it. 47 minutes into the match, Liga de Quito's goal looked a bit too open when Philip Hedvall came free, but Jairo Collador reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ponce Bollo was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd minute of the match Erik Hamberg shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jairo Collador showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After 53 played minutes Liga de Quito got a freekick which was hit by Yoelvis Villarias. An unexpectedly hard shot by Philip Hedvall in the 58th minute of play forced Liga de Quito's goalkeeper Jairo Collador to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Markus Albäck came out of the goal in the 60th minute to try and stop a shot by Liga de Quito's Ponce Bollo. But to his dismay, Ponce Bollo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. In the 64th minute, Ponce Bollo made a precise shot to the right of Markus Albäck. Nye's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-5. Markus Albäck made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ponce Bollo in the 69th minute. Markus Albäck took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eduardo Mascareñas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Liga de Quito's Jairo Collador played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Philip Hedvall in the 72nd minute of play. Markus Albäck didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Urrutia Tacon went, in the 76th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-6 was the resulting score. In the 87th minute, Zeruko Freije hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Liga de Quito's zone, Per Västerstrand stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jairo Collador came out of the goal and Per Västerstrand tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 90thth minute of the game Philip Hedvall who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Liga de Quito's Jairo Collador was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 94 minutes into the match, Liga de Quito's goal looked a bit too open when Philip Hedvall came free, but Jairo Collador reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Philip Hedvall's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jairo Collador was relentless in the 97th minute of the game. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Liga de Quito walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
