Spectators: 7491 (Terracing: 5619, Seating: 1723, VIP seats: 149) Caricancha's Prospero Martino started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 5th minute Prospero Martino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Deris Jimenez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sixto Gines hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. In the 7th minute, Orlando Flores ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Omar Telmo was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. 11 minutes into the match, Club Deportivo Águila's Nelson Hernández sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Omar Telmo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wilmer Granados in the 14th minute of play forced Caricancha's goalkeeper Omar Telmo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 16th minute Félix Pimentel suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. After 16 minutes, Jorge Millan mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Caricancha and the Club Deportivo Águila players grew even worse after the yellow card. Club Deportivo Águila's Leopoldo Cortez was substituted for Félix Pimentel. Jorge Millan kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. Omar Telmo made a fantastic save in the 21st minute, when Orlando Flores sent off a good shot on target. The crowd rose to their feet as Club Deportivo Águila's Orlando Flores slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Omar Telmo. That made the score 2-0 after 22 minutes of play. In the 24th minute, Club Deportivo Águila's Orlando Flores dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-0. Braulio Ledesma might have been able to make a better finish in the 30th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Deris Jimenez. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Braulio Ledesma ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 32nd match minute, Club Deportivo Águila was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by David Vasquez to maneuver through the defense. Orlando Flores charged in rather forcefully in the 35th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Orlando Flores the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 35th minute, Orlando Flores hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Omar Telmo was out of position in the 41 minute of play, and Orlando Flores capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Orlando Flores really showed his touch with that goal: 4-0. After 48 played minutes Caricancha got a freekick which was hit by Leandro Eufemio. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

After a rather tough play, Caricancha's Elias Milio got a free kick in the 51st minute. Deris Jimenez made a fantastic save in the 60th minute, when Braulio Ledesma sent off a good shot on target. Omar Telmo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nelson Hernández, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 64 minutes of play, Club Deportivo Águila's Nelson Hernández made it 5-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Omar Telmo was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by Leopoldo Cortez in the 75th minute of play forced Caricancha's goalkeeper Omar Telmo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Club Deportivo Águila's Deris Jimenez proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 77th minute of the match, managed to save Club Deportivo Águila from getting a goal against them. Omar Telmo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leopoldo Cortez in the 78th minute of play. Omar Telmo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leopoldo Cortez in the 86th minute of play. Caricancha's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
