After a defensive mix-up in Passa o Tanque MZ's zone, Hulberto Arias stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Laerte de Senna came out of the goal and Hulberto Arias tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 8th minute, Eufemio Zugarrondo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Atletico Maturrango's Xuban Llave played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Faustão Soares in the 11th minute of play. An unexpected shot in the 13th minute by Xzavaier Barsi got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 43rd minute of the match Eufemio Zugarrondo sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Laerte de Senna skillfully saved the ball. In the 46th minute, Paulo Macedo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Xuban Llave was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. After the first half Passa o Tanque MZ were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jax Mendana stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Xuban Llave was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Faustão Soares showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-2 in the 51 minute of play. 54 minutes into the match, Atletico Maturrango's goalkeeper Xuban Llave had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Paulo Macedo. The supporters of Passa o Tanque MZ booed when Atletico Maturrango was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Faustão Soares couldn't finish the play. Hélio Bittencourt could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 77th minute of the match, but Xuban Llave made a huge save. The crowd rose to their feet as César Vidal kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Xuban Llave. That made the score 0-4 in the 79 minute of play. In the 84th minute, Passa o Tanque MZ's Hélio Bittencourt dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-5. Atletico Maturrango were furious when Olivar Carpio was red carded, 88 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After 88 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Atletico Maturrango! The referee gave Passa o Tanque MZ a penalty, 90 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Hélio Bittencourt, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Atletico Maturrango's Xuban Llave. 0-6. Hélio Bittencourt could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 98th minute of the match, but Xuban Llave made a huge save. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Passa o Tanque MZ walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
