After having played for 2 minutes, Norbert Rózsa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SÉ SE's supporters crossed their fingers, but Norbert Rózsa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 4 minutes into the match, Alexandre Van Kamp had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rómeó Kormos. SÉ SE's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Alexandre Van Kamp was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Marcus Neirynck charged in rather forcefully in the 12th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Marcus Neirynck the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of SÉ SE booed when Royal Antwerp FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcus Neirynck didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Royal Antwerp FC's William Weggers got control of the ball when Albert Szél tried to sneak it across the goal line. Marcus Neirynck was shown his second yellow card after 14 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. A collision led to Royal Antwerp FC getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Marcus Neirynck hit a great ball. Norbert Rózsa struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. William Weggers didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SÉ SE. William Weggers came out of the goal in the 23rd minute to try and stop a shot by SÉ SE's Albert Szél. But to his dismay, Albert Szél quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. The supporters of Royal Antwerp FC booed when SÉ SE was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alfréd Nyilasi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Albert Szél who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 42ndth minute tested the skills of William Weggers when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Pál Pulai didn't get a good kick on the ball. 45 minutes into the game, Royal Antwerp FC's Alexandre Van Kamp nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Albert Szél was the one to do the kick off. Albert Szél scored 2-2 in the 52nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of William Weggers, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 61 minutes into the game, Alexandre Van Kamp recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Rómeó Kormos. Alexandre Van Kamp showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-3. Alek Sliepers kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. Alexandre Van Kamps short, quick shot in the 71stth minute got Rómeó Kormos to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. When Alexandre Van Kamp came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the Royal Antwerp FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alexandre Van Kamp couldn't finish the play. 81 minutes into the match, Royal Antwerp FC's goal looked a bit too open when Albert Szél came free, but William Weggers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pál Pulai kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. Rómeó Kormos made a fantastic save in the 85th minute, when Guy Wolfs sent off a good shot on target. When Guy Wolfs came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the Royal Antwerp FC fans jumped to their feet. With a little luck, SÉ SE's Rómeó Kormos got control of the ball when Ward Reiniers tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in SÉ SE's zone, Alexandre Van Kamp stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rómeó Kormos came out of the goal and Alexandre Van Kamp tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Royal Antwerp FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Royal Antwerp FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
