Rómeó Kormos was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Ronaldo Nazário De Lima showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 16 minute of play. In the 24thth minute of the game Endrick De Sousa who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SÉ SE's Rómeó Kormos was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in SÉ SE's zone, Laerte dos Santos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rómeó Kormos came out of the goal and Laerte dos Santos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Attila Veres's late challenge caught a Real Cruzeiro FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Attila Veres helped the player get up and apologised. The audience was convinced that Albert Szél's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Frank Bertassi was relentless in the 34th minute of the game. A collision led to Real Cruzeiro FC getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Ronaldo Nazário De Lima hit a great ball. Imre Fülöp's late challenge caught a Real Cruzeiro FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Imre Fülöp helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Real Cruzeiro FC booed when SÉ SE was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Imre Fülöp didn't get a good kick on the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Valdir Tepedino stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Albert Szél in the 51st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Frank Bertassi saved Real Cruzeiro FC from getting behind. 53 minutes into the game, Albert Szél cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Frank Bertassi was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Frank Bertassi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Imre Fülöp, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ronaldo Nazário De Lima received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Rómeó Kormos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Real Cruzeiro FC's Frank Bertassi got control of the ball when Albert Szél tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the match had gone on for 74 minutes, Imre Fülöp took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for Frank Bertassi to make any attempt to save it. Frank Bertassi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Imre Fülöp, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. In the 79th minute of the match, Albert Szél tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Frank Bertassi saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line.
