In the 12th match minute, Club Dep. Soc. Rodo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rius Monje to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Club Dep. Soc. Rodo's Donatello Barajo got control of the ball when Baladi Miquelarena tried to sneak it across the goal line. 16 minutes into the game, Nova Soccer's Baladi Miquelarena nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Donatello Barajo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. In the 25th minute Steve Hyuga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Donatello Barajo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Club Dep. Soc. Rodo fans' excitement grew in the 26th match minute when Club Dep. Soc. Rodo's Vidal Ximeno looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. When Estefan Gavilanes fell near the penalty area in the 41st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Nova Soccer's protests and gave Estefan Gavilanes a yellow card for diving instead. In the 41st match minute, Nova Soccer was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Estefan Gavilanes to maneuver through the defense. In the 42nd minute of the match Blas Bolaños shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but José Carvallo showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After 44 minutes of play, Nova Soccer's Estefan Gavilanes made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Donatello Barajo was left in no man's land by his defense there! All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. Vidal Ximeno scored 2-2 in the 52nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of José Carvallo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Narciso Anda fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José Carvallo having to interfere. In the 62nd minute Estefan Gavilanes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Donatello Barajo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 67th minute, Baladi Miquelarena hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rodo fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-3. Narciso Anda who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 81stth minute tested the skills of José Carvallo when he managed to save the team from getting behind.
