The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Wilson Travassos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ipar Monzonis in the 2nd minute of the match. After 4 minutes SANTOS F.C's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Mero Barbadillo who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Club Dep. Soc. Rodo's Mero Barbadillo to fire away a dangerous shot which Wilson Travassos despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Cauan Leão charged in rather forcefully in the 5th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cauan Leão the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Cauan Leão hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. When Rubio Villapadierna came up free with the goalie in the 12th minute, the Club Dep. Soc. Rodo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rubio Villapadierna couldn't finish the play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Benjamin Quirino got free with Donatello Barajo in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 20 minutes into the game, Benjamin Quirino recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Donatello Barajo. Benjamin Quirino showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. 23 minutes into the game, SANTOS F.C's José Carlos Koehler nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Donatello Barajo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Wilson Travassos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ipar Monzonis in the 27th minute of play. A collision led to SANTOS F.C getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Cauan Leão hit a great ball. When Ipar Monzonis came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the Club Dep. Soc. Rodo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ipar Monzonis couldn't finish the play. In the 33rd minute, José Carlos Koehler hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 33rd minute of the match Mero Barbadillo sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Wilson Travassos skillfully saved the ball. In the 56th minute Vidal Ximeno shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wilson Travassos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Club Dep. Soc. This resulted in a 2-2 score and a disappointed Wilson Travassos as he didn't even see the shot coming. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mero Barbadillo during the 77th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Mero Barbadillo hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Club Dep. Soc. Rodo's Vidal Ximeno got a free kick in the 79th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ipar Monzonis got free with Wilson Travassos in the 84th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Vidal Ximeno received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Wilson Travassos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the last second Wilson Travassos throw himself and got hold of the ball when Ipar Monzonis in the 95thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
