Mazaredo AFC's Arnoldo Orlondon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Laurent Lanphant in the 2nd minute of play. SK Gullegem's Edmond Walder was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Arnoldo Orlondon in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Frank Costermans kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. 11 minutes into the game, Cosme Quinton was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mazaredo AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SK Gullegem the free kick. After a rather tough play, Mazaredo AFC's Cosme Quinton got a free kick in the 11th minute. In the 15th minute, Emiliano Celino reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Yelle Van Damme. The goal made the score 1-0. 19 minutes into the match, SK Gullegem's goalkeeper Yelle Van Damme had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Augusto Gilen. Gavino Veremundo's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Yelle Van Damme firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 21st minute Jos Van Boeckost shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnoldo Orlondon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 25 minutes into the match, SK Gullegem's goal looked a bit too open when Augusto Gilen came free, but Yelle Van Damme reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Yelle Van Damme stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Augusto Gilen's shot from short distance in the 26th minute. Yanne Van Beneden sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edmond Walder in the 38th minute of play forced Mazaredo AFC's goalkeeper Arnoldo Orlondon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, SK Gullegem's Yelle Van Damme got control of the ball when Gavino Veremundo tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Yanne Van Beneden had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Edmond Walder to strike the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Mazaredo AFC's Lucas Toli got a free kick in the 65th minute. Edmond Walder's late challenge caught a Mazaredo AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Edmond Walder helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, SK Gullegem's Edmond Walder got a free kick in the 67th minute. A collision led to Mazaredo AFC getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Cosme Quinton hit a great ball. The referee felt a red card was in order, 72 minutes into the game, when Frank Costermans put in a rough tackle. In the 73rd match minute, SK Gullegem was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Frank Costermans to maneuver through the defense. In the 74th minute Cosme Quinton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Yelle Van Damme saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Yelle Van Damme took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bonifacio Muno, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Laurent Lanphant recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Arnoldo Orlondon made an important save on a dangerous shot by Laurent Lanphant in the 83rd minute. After 91 played minutes SK Gullegem got a freekick which was hit by Wart Hollants. In the 93rd minute, Yanne Van Beneden left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SK Gullegem fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-2. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Mazaredo AFC fans cheered their team off the field, for while SK Gullegem had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
