Pindobassu EC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave The Reds the free kick. David Dionísio hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. After having played for 14 minutes, Miguel Trigo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pindobassu EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Miguel Trigo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Elliott Barck received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Kaká Maia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rubinho Miranda charged in rather forcefully in the 32nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rubinho Miranda the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Pindobassu EC getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Rubinho Miranda hit a great ball. A sloppy throw-in by Válter Corrêa in the 39th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by The Reds's Mårten Stabbe. In the 43rd minute, Norberto de Carvalho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kaká Maia was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Mårten Stabbe. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Miguel Trigo in the 48th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Joar Kuse prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Bengt Sandell made the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Bengt Sandell managed to get in a good position for a shot. The Reds's supporters rose to their feet, but Bengt Sandell was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kaká Maia breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Egil Kilstedt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Pindobassu EC's zone, Egil Kilstedt stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kaká Maia came out of the goal and Egil Kilstedt tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers David Dionísio in the 63rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Joar Kuse saved The Reds from getting behind. Miguel Trigo made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 64thth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Joar Kuse would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. If Stig Lindgren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When the match had gone on for 70 minutes, Bengt Sandell put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Kaká Maia. Kaká Maia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bengt Sandell in the 74th minute of play. Kaká Maia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bengt Sandell in the 75th minute of the match. In the 80th minute Bengt Sandell shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kaká Maia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Egil Kilstedt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Válter Corrêa kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. Bengt Sandell fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kaká Maia having to interfere. Felipe da Rocha's late challenge caught a The Reds's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Felipe da Rocha helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Pindobassu EC's Felipe da Rocha got a free kick in the 91st minute. Elliott Barck fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kaká Maia having to interfere.
