Arnoldo Nikola might have been able to make a better finish in the 4th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Joar Kuse. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Arnoldo Nikola ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 9th minute, Filomeno Eguerdi ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Joar Kuse was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. In the 12th minute Arnoldo Nikola shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joar Kuse saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Club Sportivo Quilmes booed when The Reds was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ola Malmberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. Arnoldo Nikola came free with the goalkeeper in the 16th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Joar Kuse could save by the left post. Joar Kuse was out of position in the 23 minute of play, and Arnoldo Nikola capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Arnoldo Nikola really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. Tiburcio Basajaun kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. Uriel Iratzeder made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bengt Sandell in the 26th minute of play. 35 minutes into the match, The Reds's goal looked a bit too open when Arnoldo Nikola came free, but Joar Kuse reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 37 played minutes The Reds got a freekick which was hit by Marcus Alrot. If Filomeno Eguerdi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 39th minute, Arnoldo Nikola got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Arnoldo Nikola to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 55th minute, Stig Broberg got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Saverio Silban sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Egil Kilstedt kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. 59 minutes into the match, Club Sportivo Quilmes's Benjamin Igon sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Joar Kuse narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Stig Broberg during the 62nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, The Reds's Mårten Stabbe got a free kick in the 78th minute. In the 79th minute of the match Saverio Silban sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Joar Kuse skillfully saved the ball. In the 82nd minute, Marcus Alrot hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Stig Lindgren charged in rather forcefully in the 85th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Stig Lindgren the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Stig Lindgren hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. A throw-in in the 87th minute of the game was made by Paulo Tadzio with Filomeno Eguerdi as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. In the 91st minute, Saverio Silban hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 94 minutes into the game, Club Sportivo Quilmes's Filomeno Eguerdi nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Joar Kuse made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 7-0. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Club Sportivo Quilmes fans cheered their team off the field, for while The Reds had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
