Pedro Paulo Schmidt scored 1-0 in the 5th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Arnaldo Lopes, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 10th minute Ademir Barbosa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnaldo Lopes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 12th minute, Nelsinho Travassos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Durvalino Linhares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Walmir de Lara tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 14th minute, Michel Macedo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Durval Brito kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. Durval Brito hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Walmir de Lara didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Durvalino Linhares went, in the 19th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. AFC - Curitiba's Nelsinho Travassos got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 25th minute, Jano Proença made a precise shot to the right of Walmir de Lara. ValenBehr F.C. - FSCMZ's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Durvalino Linhares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Walmir de Lara having to interfere. In the 30th minute, ValenBehr F.C. - FSCMZ's Ademir Barbosa ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Arnaldo Lopes. Arnaldo Lopes yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-2. Augusto Brodel charged in rather forcefully in the 34th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Augusto Brodel the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 34 played minutes AFC - Curitiba got a freekick which was hit by Augusto Brodel. Ademir Barbosa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Arnaldo Lopes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Durvalino Linhares in the 38th minute of play forced ValenBehr F.C. - FSCMZ's goalkeeper Walmir de Lara to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Humberto Leão fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Walmir de Lara having to interfere. AFC - Curitiba's Arnaldo Lopes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ademir Barbosa in the 41st minute of play. Humberto Leão received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Walmir de Lara tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Walmir de Lara made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Durvalino Linhares in the 44th minute of play. Washington Coutinho hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. The score stood at 2-2 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Arnaldo Lopes came out of the goal in the 53rd minute to try and stop a shot by ValenBehr F.C. - FSCMZ's Washington Coutinho. But to his dismay, Washington Coutinho quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Naldo Tasso in the 56th minute of play forced AFC - Curitiba's goalkeeper Arnaldo Lopes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to ValenBehr F.C. - FSCMZ getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Durval Brito hit a great ball. With a little luck, ValenBehr F.C. - FSCMZ's Walmir de Lara got control of the ball when Durvalino Linhares tried to sneak it across the goal line. Arnaldo Lopes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ademir Barbosa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 81 minutes, Michel Macedo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the ValenBehr F.C. - FSCMZ and the AFC - Curitiba players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 80th minute of the game. One of ValenBehr F.C. - FSCMZ:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of AFC - Curitiba:s goal. Durvalino Linhares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Nelsinho Travassos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 99 minutes into the match, Ademir Barbosa had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Arnaldo Lopes. AFC - Curitiba's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ademir Barbosa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-2.
