The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Zandarin FC defense, Pedro Rojelio kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jânio Ramos. The Zandarin FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jânio Ramos should have stopped the shot. When Alexandre Meireles fell near the penalty area in the 46th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Zandarin FC's protests and gave Alexandre Meireles a yellow card for diving instead. After 46 played minutes Zandarin FC got a freekick which was hit by Alexandre Meireles. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Serafim Loyola to make the kick off. After 52 minutes, Zé Ramos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Zandarin FC and the Club Atlético Atlanta players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Club Atlético Atlanta booed when Zandarin FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zé Ramos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jânio Ramos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pedro Rojelio in the 61st minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pedro Rojelio got free with Jânio Ramos in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpected shot in the 77th minute by Pedro Rojelio got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side.
