An unexpectedly hard shot by Ingvar Wiklund in the 3rd minute of play forced Fiume Veneto's goalkeeper Ercole Briganti to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 8th match minute, Fiume Veneto was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Flavio Signoretti to maneuver through the defense. Thor Haström made a fantastic save in the 15th minute, when Arturo Passerini sent off a good shot on target. 24 minutes into the game, Gotham City's Claes Albäck nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ercole Briganti made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Fiume Veneto's Ercole Briganti played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ingvar Wiklund in the 26th minute of play. Ingvar Wiklund's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ercole Briganti read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 28th minute of play. After 29 played minutes Fiume Veneto got a freekick which was hit by Andrea Natalucci. Arturo Passerini's late challenge caught a Gotham City's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Arturo Passerini helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Fiume Veneto's Arturo Passerini got a free kick in the 36th minute. Claes Albäck sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Fiume Veneto's Arturo Passerini got his second yellow card of the match in the 53rd minute. The referee ordered Arturo Passerini off the ground. In the 53rd match minute, Fiume Veneto was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arturo Passerini to maneuver through the defense. 57 minutes into the match, Gotham City's André Smed sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ercole Briganti narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A collision led to Fiume Veneto getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Federico Fanfarone hit a great ball. After 74 minutes, Flavio Signoretti mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Fiume Veneto and the Gotham City players grew even worse after the yellow card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Fiume Veneto fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 74th minute. Penalty! Claes Albäck could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 82nd minute of the match, but Ercole Briganti made a huge save. Gotham City played a much better game than Fiume Veneto and deserved their victory. The Fiume Veneto players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
