Oldham Athletic's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sören Petersson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ingvar Bollström in the 13th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Blas Otsoko saved Las 3R Club De Fútbol from getting behind. In the 15th minute, Las 3R Club De Fútbol's Ivan Mogel dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. If Ivan Mogel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Haroldo Sansone in the 19th minute of play forced Oldham Athletic's goalkeeper Sonny Bergdal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Las 3R Club De Fútbol's Renzo Rodrigo came free and shot a quick shot against goal 24 minutes in the game, fortunately Sonny Bergdal had problems saving as it came toward the left post. Sören Petersson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Blas Otsoko tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the Oldham Athletic defense, Renzo Rodrigo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sonny Bergdal. The Oldham Athletic fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sonny Bergdal should have stopped the shot. When Oldham Athletic's Sören Petersson in the 32nd minute got a chance for a shot 32nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Las 3R Club De Fútbol's goalie prevented a goal. Blas Otsoko showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ingvar Bollström in the 37th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sören Petersson in the 39th minute of play forced Las 3R Club De Fútbol's goalkeeper Blas Otsoko to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Astor Gutierrez kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. After 42 minutes, Ingvar Bollström made it 2-1 with a short kick to the right side. Las 3R Club De Fútbol's Blas Otsoko tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 47 minutes into the game, Bror Hegg was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Oldham Athletic's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Las 3R Club De Fútbol the free kick. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ingvar Bollström made a kick off. Oldham Athletic's Sonny Bergdal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ivan Mogel in the 52nd minute of play. Ingvar Bollström's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 57thth minute, Blas Otsoko skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Ivan Mogel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Sonny Bergdal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Oldham Athletic's Karl-Erik Fransson was substituted for Sören Petersson. When Renzo Rodrigo came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the Las 3R Club De Fútbol fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Renzo Rodrigo couldn't finish the play. Sonny Bergdal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ivan Mogel in the 67th minute of the match. With splendid footwork Ingvar Bollström arrived in front of goal to shoot 2-2 by the left pole in the game's 76th minute. Astor Gutierrez kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Karl-Erik Fransson got free with Blas Otsoko in the 90th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The Oldham Athletic supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Oldham Athletic would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
