Papunhas EC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. 6 minutes into the match, Papunhas EC's goal looked a bit too open when Reynaldo Fernandez came free, but Régis Madureira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nilton Secco in the 9th minute of play forced Papunhas EC's goalkeeper Régis Madureira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Conrado Leite in the 11th minute of play forced Papunhas EC's goalkeeper Régis Madureira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Egídio Ferraz hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. Régis Madureira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jonathan de Azevedo in the 15th minute of play. 17 minutes into the game, Reynaldo Fernandez cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Régis Madureira was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Régis Madureira didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Reynaldo Fernandez went, in the 20th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. After a rather tough play, Guararapes's Conrado Leite got a free kick in the 24th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jonathan de Azevedo in the 26th minute of play forced Papunhas EC's goalkeeper Régis Madureira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 31 minutes into the match, Conrado Leite notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Papunhas EC's Régis Madureira. Régis Madureira was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 35 minutes of play, Guararapes's Reynaldo Fernandez made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Régis Madureira was left in no man's land by his defense there! When Nilton Secco fell near the penalty area in the 37th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Guararapes's protests and gave Nilton Secco a yellow card for diving instead. Nilton Secco kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. In the 39th minute, David Furtado made a precise shot to the right of Luís Corrêa. Guararapes's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-4. An unexpectedly hard shot by Reynaldo Fernandez in the 41st minute of play forced Papunhas EC's goalkeeper Régis Madureira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 44 minutes into the game, Reynaldo Fernandez cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-5. Régis Madureira was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After some careless play in the Papunhas EC defense, Reynaldo Fernandez kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Régis Madureira. The Papunhas EC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Régis Madureira should have stopped the shot.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Frédson Rosa to strike the kick off in the second half. Murillo Ferreira's late challenge caught a Papunhas EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Murillo Ferreira helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Guararapes getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Murillo Ferreira hit a great ball. In the 58th minute of the match, Reynaldo Fernandez got a very nice opportunity to score, but Régis Madureira was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Nilton Seccos short, quick shot in the 61stth minute got Régis Madureira to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Régis Madureira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Conrado Leite in the 62nd minute of play. 64 minutes into the match, Nilton Secco had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Régis Madureira. Papunhas EC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nilton Secco was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-7. Conrado Leite received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Régis Madureira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Murillo Ferreira hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. Guararapes's Tiago Gabriel Fernandez was substituted for Conrado Leite. In the 69th match minute, Guararapes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Murillo Ferreira to maneuver through the defense. Papunhas EC's Régis Madureira proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to save Papunhas EC from getting a goal against them. In the 84th minute, Guararapes's Reynaldo Fernandez dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-8. Guararapes's Murillo Ferreira got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 93rd match minute, Papunhas EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Valério Vergílio to maneuver through the defense. In the 95th minute Jonathan de Azevedo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Régis Madureira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Guararapes's Murillo Ferreira slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Régis Madureira. That made the score 1-10 after 97 minutes of play. The Papunhas EC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Guararapes were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
