When David Furtado came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the Papunhas EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that David Furtado couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by David Furtado in the 32nd minute of play forced Marzagão's goalkeeper Pedro Luís Fernandez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Papunhas EC's Régis Madureira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fabiano de Queiroz in the 34th minute of play. When César Rosa fell near the penalty area in the 38th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Marzagão's protests and gave César Rosa a yellow card for diving instead. After 38 played minutes Marzagão got a freekick which was hit by César Rosa. In the 43rd minute, Alfredo Esteves got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Neil Mar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

Egídio Ferraz charged in rather forcefully in the 73rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Egídio Ferraz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Papunhas EC getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Egídio Ferraz hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 78th minute, Alberto Prado managed to get in a good position for a shot. Marzagão's supporters rose to their feet, but Alberto Prado was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Régis Madureira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 80th minute, Alfredo Esteves ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Régis Madureira was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. With an all-out effort, Marzagão's Régis Madureira threw himself towards the right post 83 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Neil Mar, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberto Prado in the 89th minute of play forced Papunhas EC's goalkeeper Régis Madureira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Marzagão's Neil Mar slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Régis Madureira. That made the score 0-2 after 92 minutes of play. Papunhas EC's Régis Madureira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Neil Mar in the 97th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nestor Rodrigues during the 97th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
