Spectators: 7492 (Terracing: 5620, Seating: 1723, VIP seats: 149) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Ingvar Bollström kicked off to start the match. The supporters of Oldham Athletic booed when Papunhas EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nestor Rodrigues didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Bror Hegg fell near the penalty area in the 6th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Oldham Athletic's protests and gave Bror Hegg a yellow card for diving instead. David Furtado recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 7th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 12 minutes into the match, David Furtado had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sonny Bergdal. Oldham Athletic's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that David Furtado was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. 17 minutes into the match, Oldham Athletic's goal looked a bit too open when David Furtado came free, but Sonny Bergdal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Régis Madureira didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ingvar Bollström went, in the 18th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Régis Madureira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Agne Stor, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Sonny Bergdal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from David Furtado, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. 26 minutes into the match, Oldham Athletic's goal looked a bit too open when David Furtado came free, but Sonny Bergdal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Régis Madureira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ingvar Bollström, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 34th minute, Ingvar Bollström ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Régis Madureira was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Fernandão Meirelles kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Frédson Rosa in the 42nd minute of play forced Oldham Athletic's goalkeeper Sonny Bergdal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Richard Madureira kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. After 44 played minutes, Oldham Athletic's Jan Gulliksson shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Régis Madureira came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Oldham Athletic reached it. Sonny Bergdal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from David Furtado, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Frédson Rosa was the one to do the kick off. The Papunhas EC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Régis Madureira should have stopped the shot. After a rather tough play, Oldham Athletic's Bror Hegg got a free kick in the 74th minute. Sonny Bergdal made a fantastic save in the 79th minute, when Frédson Rosa sent off a good shot on target. 84 minutes into the match, Karl-Erik Fransson had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Régis Madureira. Papunhas EC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Karl-Erik Fransson was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-1. Régis Madureira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Per-Arne Nyberg in the 88th minute of the match. Jan Gulliksson's late challenge caught a Papunhas EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jan Gulliksson helped the player get up and apologised. Jan Gulliksson kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. 93 minutes into the game, one of Oldham Athletic:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Frédson Rosa's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 99thth minute, Sonny Bergdal skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. When the referee ended the match the Oldham Athletic players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
