Vladimir Schnyder made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Micah LeBatelier in the 8th minute of play. Martial Schwersenz's late challenge caught a Jagiellonia Denver's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Martial Schwersenz helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Jagiellonia Denver booed when Fire Devils was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Martial Schwersenz didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 17th minute, Leonard Schnyder hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 20 minutes into the match, Jagiellonia Denver's goal looked a bit too open when Thaddäus Striner came free, but Antonio Grossman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 23 minutes into the match, Fire Devils's Thaddäus Striner sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Antonio Grossman narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 27th minute, Leonard Schnyder hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 28 played minutes Fire Devils got a freekick which was hit by Henrik Basciano. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Danial Edmondson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Jagiellonia Denver's supporters rose to their feet, but Danial Edmondson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vladimir Schnyder breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Micah LeBatelier had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Antonio Grossman didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Billy Waller went, in the 34th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. After some careless play in the Jagiellonia Denver defense, Thaddäus Striner kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Antonio Grossman. The Jagiellonia Denver fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Antonio Grossman should have stopped the shot. After 41 played minutes Jagiellonia Denver got a freekick which was hit by Danial Edmondson. In the 42nd minute of the match Pawel Bouchard sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Antonio Grossman skillfully saved the ball. Fire Devils's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Pawel Bouchard in the 43rd minute. It was a well-played corner which Hajo Nyfeler managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Micah LeBatelier to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52ndth minute of the game Micah LeBatelier who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Fire Devils's Vladimir Schnyder was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Jagiellonia Denver's Micah LeBatelier got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 58 minutes into the game, Fire Devils's Thaddäus Striner nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Antonio Grossman made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. 61 minutes into the game, Thaddäus Striner cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-4. Antonio Grossman was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Thaddäus Striner could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 66th minute of the match, but Antonio Grossman made a huge save. The supporters of Jagiellonia Denver booed when Fire Devils was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Billy Waller didn't get a good kick on the ball. Horace Feldmann struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. Antonio Grossman didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fire Devils. With a little luck, Jagiellonia Denver's Antonio Grossman got control of the ball when Thaddäus Striner tried to sneak it across the goal line. With his leg Antonio Grossman managed to avoid a goal in the 75thth minute, when Fire Devils's Thaddäus Striner fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The supporters of Jagiellonia Denver booed when Fire Devils was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Henrik Basciano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vladimir Schnyder showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hoyt Dove, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Antonio Grossman was a little too slow when Thaddäus Striner got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 80th minute. The score was now 0-5. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Thaddäus Striner in the 90th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Antonio Grossman prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Thaddäus Striner could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 92nd minute of the match, but Antonio Grossman made a huge save. Gilbert Pena received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Vladimir Schnyder tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Fire Devils players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
