Gilbert Pena could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 9th minute of the match, but Tomás Quintun made a huge save. In the 10th minute, Viento Norte FC's Vinicio Mingo seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Vinicio Mingo the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Viento Norte FC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Vinicio Mingo had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The supporters of Jagiellonia Denver booed when Viento Norte FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vinicio Mingo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Danial Edmondson struck a weak shot in the 12th minute. Tomás Quintun didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Jagiellonia Denver. After 12 played minutes Viento Norte FC got a freekick which was hit by Isaias Amato. After some careless play in the Viento Norte FC defense, Hoyt Dove kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tomás Quintun. The Viento Norte FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tomás Quintun should have stopped the shot. Eusebio Jobo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Antonio Grossman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Odilon Hodges fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Jagiellonia Denver's protests and gave Odilon Hodges a yellow card for diving instead. Tomás Quintun made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Micah LeBatelier in the 25th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Jagiellonia Denver's Micah LeBatelier got a free kick in the 27th minute. When Micah LeBatelier came up free with the goalie in the 29th minute, the Jagiellonia Denver fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Micah LeBatelier couldn't finish the play. After 31 minutes, Felicien Schwartz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Jagiellonia Denver and the Viento Norte FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Jagiellonia Denver's Felicien Schwartz got a free kick in the 31st minute. After a defensive mix-up in Jagiellonia Denver's zone, Feliberto Elodio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Antonio Grossman came out of the goal and Feliberto Elodio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Viento Norte FC booed when Jagiellonia Denver was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gilbert Pena didn't get a good kick on the ball. Micah LeBatelier fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tomás Quintun having to interfere. 43 minutes into the match, Viento Norte FC's goalkeeper Tomás Quintun had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hoyt Dove. A collision led to Viento Norte FC getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Zeledon Dalmau hit a great ball. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

In the 61st minute, Feliberto Elodio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eriberto Fertus in the 66th minute of play forced Jagiellonia Denver's goalkeeper Antonio Grossman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 68th match minute, Viento Norte FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zeledon Dalmau to maneuver through the defense. Danial Edmondson took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 69th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Tomás Quintun. Viento Norte FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. A collision led to Jagiellonia Denver getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Hoyt Dove hit a great ball. Eriberto Fertus hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Eriberto Fertus managed to get in a good position for a shot. Viento Norte FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Eriberto Fertus was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Antonio Grossman breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 87 minutes, Eriberto Fertus managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Viento Norte FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eriberto Fertus was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Feliberto Elodio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Tomás Quintun took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hoyt Dove, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 93 minutes into the game, Eriberto Fertus recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Antonio Grossman. Eriberto Fertus showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. The Jagiellonia Denver supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Viento Norte FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Viento Norte FC.
