After a rather tough play, Club Atletico Lanus's Geronimo Abascal got a free kick in the 4th minute. In the 5th minute, Cesar Benat reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Astor Teofilio. The goal made the score 1-0. Club Atletico Lanus's Astor Teofilio proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 12th minute of the match, managed to save Club Atletico Lanus from getting a goal against them. After 14 played minutes Club Atletico Lanus got a freekick which was hit by Marcial Martinez. 18 minutes into the game, Prospero Johans was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Italia's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Club Atletico Lanus the free kick. In the 18th minute, Prospero Johans hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ernesto Paz hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. If Victorio Tanio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 24 minutes into the match, Andres Gaizkine had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Benedicto Lon. Italia's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Andres Gaizkine was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. In the 29th minute, Isaias Maura left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Italia fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. When Clemente Bingen fell near the penalty area in the 32nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Club Atletico Lanus's protests and gave Clemente Bingen a yellow card for diving instead. Clemente Bingen kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. Benedicto Lon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Victorio Tanio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ernesto Paz hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. If Juan Olando had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Braulio Nalo to make the kick off. Club Atletico Lanus were furious when Geronimo Abascal was red carded, 51 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 51st minute, one of Club Atletico Lanus:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Club Atletico Lanus. Benedicto Lon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Andres Gaizkine in the 57th minute of the match. Victorio Tanio charged in rather forcefully in the 58th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Victorio Tanio the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Club Atletico Lanus getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Victorio Tanio hit a great ball. When Italia's Isaias Maura in the 64th minute got a chance for a shot 64th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Club Atletico Lanus's goalie prevented a goal. If Faustino Ralondo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Victorio Tanio's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Benedicto Lon read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 70th minute of play. Cesar Benat took the ball and in the 73 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Astor Teofilio. Astor Teofilio dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-1. Braulio Nalo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Astor Teofilio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cesar Benat, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 91 minutes into the match, Club Atletico Lanus's goal looked a bit too open when Braulio Nalo came free, but Astor Teofilio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Andres Gaizkine in the 96th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Benedicto Lon saved Italia from getting behind.
