Zé Augusto Peixoto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Haydar Özdinç in the 12th minute of play. istanbulls's Hüsrev Can proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 14th minute of the match, managed to save istanbulls from getting a goal against them. Hüsrev Can took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hélder Trigo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 24 minutes into the game, Haydar Özdinç cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Zé Augusto Peixoto was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 30 minutes of play, Vascogoianiense FC's Hélder Trigo made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Hüsrev Can was left in no man's land by his defense there! After having played for 34 minutes, Ulisses Cordeiro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vascogoianiense FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ulisses Cordeiro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Hüsrev Can made an important save on a dangerous shot by Júnior Camargo in the 36th minute. 37 minutes had been played when some careless play by istanbulls's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Ronaldão Carvalho was slow to take the kick. During this time Vascogoianiense FC's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Ronaldão Carvalho got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Hüsrev Can quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Zé Augusto Peixoto came out of the goal in the 44th minute to try and stop a shot by istanbulls's Mazhar Kerimhan. But to his dismay, Mazhar Kerimhan quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Işık Şerhenk charged in rather forcefully in the 46th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Işık Şerhenk the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to istanbulls getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Işık Şerhenk hit a great ball. The Vascogoianiense FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. istanbulls were winning 1-2.

Hélder Trigo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hüsrev Can having to interfere. İsmail Hakkı Mahşer's late challenge caught a Vascogoianiense FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. İsmail Hakkı Mahşer helped the player get up and apologised. Vascogoianiense FC made a substitution. Gil Sampaio replaced Júnior Camargo. In the 54th minute, İsmail Hakkı Mahşer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 60thth minute of the game Hélder Trigo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but istanbulls's Hüsrev Can was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Vascogoianiense FC's Waldir Faria quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Ceyhun Koyas, made in the 69th minute of the game. Gil Sampaio charged in rather forcefully in the 69th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. In the 70th match minute, Vascogoianiense FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gil Sampaio to maneuver through the defense. After 75 played minutes Vascogoianiense FC got a freekick which was hit by Hélder Trigo. Haydar Özdinç took the ball and in the 77 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Zé Augusto Peixoto. Zé Augusto Peixoto dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. If Songurbey Nesip had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Haydar Özdinç got free with Zé Augusto Peixoto in the 95th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the final whistle sounded istanbulls left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Vascogoianiense FC.
