Benedicto Lon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Battal Cüneyt Zahir, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 22nd match minute, istanbulls was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by İsmail Hakkı Mahşer to maneuver through the defense. In the 36th minute, istanbulls's Haydar Özdinç dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. In the 39th minute, Haydar Özdinç made a precise shot to the right of Benedicto Lon. Italia's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Haydar Özdinç stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute Haydar Özdinç shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benedicto Lon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Isaias Maura helped the player get up and apologised. Isaias Maura hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. After 75 played minutes Italia got a freekick which was hit by Elvio Giraldo. Nicanor Costante hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. Işık Şerhenk sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Battal Cüneyt Zahir received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Benedicto Lon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 89th minute, Haydar Özdinç got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Haydar Özdinç in the 91st minute of play forced Italia's goalkeeper Benedicto Lon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
