Rodrigo Lalla made a fantastic save in the 7th minute, when Pompiliu Pantiș sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of FC Politehnica Timisoara booed when CAI NEUQUEN was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Honorato Eutropio didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the FC Politehnica Timisoara defense, Damian Barea kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Olimpiu Ignea. The FC Politehnica Timisoara fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Olimpiu Ignea should have stopped the shot. In the 33rd minute, Manole Constantinescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rodrigo Lalla showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nicu Isăilă in the 36th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Aurel Nenciu got free with Rodrigo Lalla in the 42nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 45th minute, Aurel Nenciu reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Rodrigo Lalla. The goal made the score 2-1. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Damian Barea to make the kick off. 53 minutes into the game, Pompiliu Pantiș cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Rodrigo Lalla was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 61 minutes into the match, Aurel Nenciu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rodrigo Lalla. CAI NEUQUEN's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Aurel Nenciu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-1. If Silviu Piţurcă had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Aurel Nenciu took the ball and in the 78 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rodrigo Lalla. Rodrigo Lalla dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-1. After 82 minutes of play, FC Politehnica Timisoara's Aurel Nenciu made it 6-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rodrigo Lalla was left in no man's land by his defense there! Rodrigo Lalla took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nicu Isăilă, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, FC Politehnica Timisoara's Silviu Piţurcă got a free kick in the 89th minute. 94 minutes into the match, CAI NEUQUEN's goal looked a bit too open when Manole Constantinescu came free, but Rodrigo Lalla reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. There was no doubt that FC Politehnica Timisoara were the better team. FC Politehnica Timisoara's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
