When Jan-Peter van Zaanen came up free with the goalie in the 33rd minute, the ASV Muziekwijk fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jan-Peter van Zaanen couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in GUBERNATORS 74 MIKOLOW's zone, Kurt Griemink stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Norbert Gamza came out of the goal and Kurt Griemink tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Norbert Gamza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jim Damstra in the 42nd minute of the match. Norbert Gamza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jan-Peter van Zaanen, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. After a rather tough play, ASV Muziekwijk's Rinus Zwartkruis got a free kick in the 45th minute. After the first half ASV Muziekwijk were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Jan-Peter van Zaanen made the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, ASV Muziekwijk's Japke Famelen got a free kick in the 55th minute. When Hans Strobos fell near the penalty area in the 57th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored ASV Muziekwijk's protests and gave Hans Strobos a yellow card for diving instead. After 57 played minutes ASV Muziekwijk got a freekick which was hit by Hans Strobos.
