Olavo Carioca started the match with the kick off. With a little luck, Poetass FC's Cássio de Senna got control of the ball when Elano Velloso tried to sneak it across the goal line. Dani Portillo scored 1-1 in the 17th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of João Pedro Martins, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 19 minutes into the match, Fabiofs's goal looked a bit too open when Claudinho Saldanha came free, but João Pedro Martins reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. João Pedro Martins made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dani Portillo in the 25th minute of play. 25 minutes into the game, Elano Velloso was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Fabiofs's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Poetass FC the free kick. After 25 played minutes Fabiofs got a freekick which was hit by Elano Velloso. Cássio de Senna made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Washington Baptista in the 28th minute of play. Agnaldo Vieira lost his temper 32 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In the 39th minute, Erik Dante got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Erik Dante hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Elano Velloso to make the kick off. Victor Vidal hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. The supporters of Fabiofs booed when Poetass FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Narciso Freire didn't get a good kick on the ball. Victor Vidal's late challenge caught a Fabiofs's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Victor Vidal helped the player get up and apologised. Fabiofs's João Pedro Martins played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dani Portillo in the 61st minute of play. Cássio de Senna didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Fabiofs's Elano Velloso shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 3-2 in the ordered_time% minute. In the 68th minute Washington Baptista shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cássio de Senna saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Olavo Carioca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dani Portillo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 80th minute of the match, but João Pedro Martins made a huge save. If Claudinho Saldanha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. João Pedro Martins took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dani Portillo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Poetass FC's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Fabiofs had won, even though Poetass FC had held more of the ball.
