After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Honorio Txilar managed to get in a good position for a shot. The Old Boys's supporters rose to their feet, but Honorio Txilar was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Witomir Tyskie breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 22 minutes into the match, GKS 1977 BEŁCHATÓW's goal looked a bit too open when Marcelino Guilabertus came free, but Witomir Tyskie reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 26 minutes, Cláudio Suárez mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the The Old Boys and the GKS 1977 BEŁCHATÓW players grew even worse after the yellow card. If Nereo Medardo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The supporters of The Old Boys booed when GKS 1977 BEŁCHATÓW was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tolek Nowak didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Old Boys's Tiburcio Longa got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Witomir Tyskie dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Bogdan Wierzbicki hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. A collision led to The Old Boys getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Ambrosio Jerardo hit a great ball. 65 minutes into the game, Ludomil Hendzel was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. GKS 1977 BEŁCHATÓW's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave The Old Boys the free kick. After 65 played minutes GKS 1977 BEŁCHATÓW got a freekick which was hit by Ludomil Hendzel. 66 minutes into the match, Honorio Txilar notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of GKS 1977 BEŁCHATÓW's Witomir Tyskie. Witomir Tyskie was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Thanks to some nice moves Tadeo Abarca could shoot a difficult shot in the 70th minute, which Witomir Tyskie however easily saved by the left post. In the 73rd minute, The Old Boys's Nereo Medardo ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Witomir Tyskie. Witomir Tyskie yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-3. After some careless play in the GKS 1977 BEŁCHATÓW defense, Nereo Medardo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Witomir Tyskie. The GKS 1977 BEŁCHATÓW fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Witomir Tyskie should have stopped the shot. 84 minutes into the game, Wit Plech was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Marcelino Guilabertuss short, quick shot in the 88thth minute got Witomir Tyskie to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 92nd minute, The Old Boys's Nereo Medardo dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-5. The Old Boys's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
