In the 12th minute of the match, Moïse Pilot tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Tomás Calixto saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Joey Costa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jorge Presebal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Jonathan Beltran's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Joey Costa was relentless in the 25th minute of the game. When Jorge Presebal came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the Road To Glory fans jumped to their feet. Hipolito Figueroa hit a great ball. After having played for 45 minutes, Jorge Presebal managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Road To Glory's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jorge Presebal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Hipolito Figueroa hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. After 56 played minutes Road To Glory got a freekick which was hit by Gualterio Leguizamón. An unexpectedly hard shot by Moïse Pilot in the 56th minute of play forced Road To Glory's goalkeeper Tomás Calixto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Cosa nostra Lyon's Joey Costa got control of the ball when Gualterio Leguizamón tried to sneak it across the goal line.
