Hugo Ferraz made a great header on Itajaí Football Club's corner, it was just that MOEBIO's Aquiles Castulo managed to reach the ball for a save. Christiano Cearense took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Filomeno Luar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 17th minute, Alvaro Chumo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Christiano Cearense was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Christiano Cearense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alvaro Chumo in the 27th minute of play. Christiano Cearense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Filomeno Luar, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alvaro Chumo in the 35th minute of play forced Itajaí Football Club's goalkeeper Christiano Cearense to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 38 played minutes Itajaí Football Club got a freekick which was hit by José Vítor Passos. After having played for 41 minutes, Alvaro Chumo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. MOEBIO's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alvaro Chumo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Itajaí Football Club's Christiano Cearense played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tiberius Milaa in the 43rd minute of play. After some careless play in the Itajaí Football Club defense, Filomeno Luar kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Christiano Cearense. The Itajaí Football Club fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Christiano Cearense should have stopped the shot. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when José Vítor Passos stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Christiano Cearense showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Evelio Pacho in the 60th minute of the match. After 62 played minutes Itajaí Football Club got a freekick which was hit by Paulo Mattos. MOEBIO's Filomeno Luar got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 66th minute of the match Juarês Gerber shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Aquiles Castulo showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alvaro Chumo in the 71st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Christiano Cearense prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Itajaí Football Club's Christiano Cearense proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 77th minute of the match, managed to save Itajaí Football Club from getting a goal against them. MOEBIO's Aquiles Castulo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Danilo Hermes in the 83rd minute of play. In the 90th match minute, Itajaí Football Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by José Vítor Passos to maneuver through the defense. In the 93rd minute of the match Paulo Mattos sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Aquiles Castulo skillfully saved the ball. Alvaro Chumo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 96th minute of the match, but Christiano Cearense made a huge save.
