Elderslie Magpies's Brad Missen got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 20th minute Brad Missen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kevin Kivaste saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Lennart Saare had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlton Kaine in the 42nd minute of play forced Drunken Sea Monkeys's goalkeeper Kevin Kivaste to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Drunken Sea Monkeys players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Elderslie Magpies were winning 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Lennart Saare was the one to do the kick off. Brad Missen received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Kevin Kivaste came out and tried to block the shot, but Brad Missen slotted it home off the left post making it 0-2 in the 62nd minute. Kevin Kivaste showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Brad Missen in the 66th minute of the match. In the 74th match minute, Elderslie Magpies was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Drake Crampton to maneuver through the defense. After 75 played minutes, Drunken Sea Monkeys's Kusti Liiva shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Corder Clubley came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Drunken Sea Monkeys reached it.
