Alfie Nethercot made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tuan Zimmerman in the 5th minute of play. After 6 played minutes Greenbay got a freekick which was hit by Don Huckerby. Greenbay's Alfie Nethercot played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tuan Zimmerman in the 7th minute of play. Rusty Deering showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gaz Forrest in the 11th minute of the match. After 13 minutes, Tuan Zimmerman mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the ForestFire and the Greenbay players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 13th minute, Tuan Zimmerman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tuan Zimmerman in the 15th minute of play forced Greenbay's goalkeeper Alfie Nethercot to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the ForestFire defense, Don Huckerby kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rusty Deering. The ForestFire fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rusty Deering should have stopped the shot. Gaz Forrest sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, ForestFire's Robert Huddleston got a free kick in the 27th minute. Greenbay's Don Huckerby got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Rusty Deering showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Don Huckerby in the 31st minute of the match. Alfie Nethercot showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tuan Zimmerman, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. Gaz Forrest's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rusty Deering read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 40th minute of play. Gaz Forrest scored 0-2 in the 40th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Rusty Deering, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience thought a goal was coming when Max Hawthorne got free with Alfie Nethercot in the 47th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jamal Sills made a kick off. After 52 minutes, Tuan Zimmerman made it 1-2 with a short kick to the right side. Greenbay's Alfie Nethercot tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tuan Zimmerman in the 57th minute of play forced Greenbay's goalkeeper Alfie Nethercot to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Greenbay getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Andrew Etherington hit a great ball. Alfie Nethercot showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tuan Zimmerman, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. After 62 played minutes ForestFire got a freekick which was hit by Max Hawthorne. After a defensive mix-up in Greenbay's zone, Tuan Zimmerman stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alfie Nethercot came out of the goal and Tuan Zimmerman tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Max Hawthorne charged in rather forcefully in the 93rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Max Hawthorne the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Greenbay booed when ForestFire was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Max Hawthorne didn't get a good kick on the ball. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Greenbay walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
