Ovidio Maju showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ludomir Pietras, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. Jan Sobieski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Severiano Roldanillo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of MKS Legion Częstochowa booed when Rossobianco was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Samuel Gabirel didn't get a good kick on the ball. Angelino Gaueko was shown his second yellow card after 68 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ovidio Maju prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Ludomir Pietras had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aurelio Pepillo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Jan Sobieski tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 92 minutes, Wasyl Dytrych managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. MKS Legion Częstochowa's supporters crossed their fingers, but Wasyl Dytrych was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 93rd minute, Aurelio Pepillo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Rossobianco's zone, Cezary Literski stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ovidio Maju came out of the goal and Cezary Literski tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
