Spectators: 7495 (Terracing: 5622, Seating: 1724, VIP seats: 149) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Elpidio Cutberto got the match started through his kick off. Florinio Manzor took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Reynaldo Elodio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Axel Véjar in the 5th minute of play forced CLUB ATLETICO RIVER PLATE's goalkeeper Hector Jakes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 6 minutes into the match, CLUB ATLETICO RIVER PLATE's goal looked a bit too open when Axel Véjar came free, but Hector Jakes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mercurio Miquel got free with Hector Jakes in the 7th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Hector Jakes made a fantastic save in the 15th minute, when Bruno Sologuren sent off a good shot on target. Mercurio Miquel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Hector Jakes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Delmiro Manghy kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. If Axel Véjar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cobresal's Axel Véjar got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cobresal's Florinio Manzor played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Reynaldo Elodio in the 36th minute of play. After 38 played minutes CLUB ATLETICO RIVER PLATE got a freekick which was hit by Diego Menendo. Ismael Laurentzi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Florinio Manzor having to interfere. Florinio Manzor didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Reynaldo Elodio went, in the 45th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. The Cobresal players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. CLUB ATLETICO RIVER PLATE were winning 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Bruno Sologuren stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 59th minute, Cecilio Escandón hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ismael Laurentzi in the 61st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Florinio Manzor saved Cobresal from getting behind. In the 63rd minute Mercurio Miquel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hector Jakes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 65 minutes into the game, Cobresal's Mercurio Miquel nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Hector Jakes made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Bruno Sologuren recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Florinio Manzor showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ismael Laurentzi in the 78th minute of the match. Elpidio Cutberto might have been able to make a better finish in the 79th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Florinio Manzor. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Elpidio Cutberto ran back to his position shaking his head. Lester Sanfuentes kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. Reynaldo Elodio blasted a shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Florinio Manzor having to make a save. After some careless play in the CLUB ATLETICO RIVER PLATE defense, Axel Véjar kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Hector Jakes. The CLUB ATLETICO RIVER PLATE fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hector Jakes should have stopped the shot. CLUB ATLETICO RIVER PLATE's Hector Jakes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bruno Sologuren in the 90th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Reynaldo Elodio got free with Florinio Manzor in the 93rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Many of CLUB ATLETICO RIVER PLATE's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. CLUB ATLETICO RIVER PLATE may have spent more time on the ball, but Cobresal were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
