Spectators: 7474 (Terracing: 5607, Seating: 1718, VIP seats: 149) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Karel-Jan Gheysen kicked off to start the match. Floris Milters came out of the goal in the 12th minute to try and stop a shot by CLUB ATLETICO RIVER PLATE's Paulo Raitin. But to his dismay, Paulo Raitin quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After 15 played minutes CLUB ATLETICO RIVER PLATE got a freekick which was hit by Hector Gizon. CLUB ATLETICO RIVER PLATE's Hector Jakes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jorre Sproten in the 19th minute of play. Floris Milters took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paulo Raitin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 22nd minute, Hector Gizon left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The CLUB ATLETICO RIVER PLATE fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Reynaldo Elodio in the 26th minute of play forced Winksele 2016's goalkeeper Floris Milters to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 31 minutes into the game, Karel-Jan Gheysen cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Hector Jakes was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 35 played minutes Winksele 2016 got a freekick which was hit by Martin Marichal. 41 minutes into the game, CLUB ATLETICO RIVER PLATE's Hector Gizon nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Floris Milters made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. In the 44th minute, Gilbert Mathijs hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Diego Menendo's late challenge caught a Winksele 2016's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Diego Menendo helped the player get up and apologised. Diego Menendo hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. In the 47th match minute, CLUB ATLETICO RIVER PLATE was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vladimiro Madeo to maneuver through the defense. After the first half CLUB ATLETICO RIVER PLATE were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Hector Gizon made a kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Hector Gizon got free with Floris Milters in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 58 minutes into the game, CLUB ATLETICO RIVER PLATE's Hector Gizon nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Floris Milters made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-4. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paulo Raitin in the 61st minute of play forced Winksele 2016's goalkeeper Floris Milters to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Karel-Jan Gheysen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Abel Lingier sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, CLUB ATLETICO RIVER PLATE's Osvaldo Loco got a free kick in the 72nd minute. When Abel Lingier fell near the penalty area in the 73rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Winksele 2016's protests and gave Abel Lingier a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of CLUB ATLETICO RIVER PLATE booed when Winksele 2016 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Abel Lingier didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 82nd minute, Paulo Raitin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paulo Raitin in the 86th minute of play forced Winksele 2016's goalkeeper Floris Milters to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hector Jakes didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Karel-Jan Gheysen went, in the 90th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-4 was the resulting score. After some careless play in the Winksele 2016 defense, Hector Gizon kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Floris Milters. The Winksele 2016 fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Floris Milters should have stopped the shot. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched CLUB ATLETICO RIVER PLATE eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
