When the match had gone on for 3 minutes, Boris Paelinck took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Arnoldo Salamon to make any attempt to save it. In the 7th minute, Gregorie Kloots left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The KV Schoonwater fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. In the 16th minute, Marc Saelens got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. KV Schoonwater's Nicky Rauvoets played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vinicio Muc in the 20th minute of play. Arnoldo Salamon didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Boris Paelinck went, in the 21st minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. In the 23rd minute, Gregorie Kloots got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Nicky Rauvoets took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vinicio Muc, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Marc Saelens fell near the penalty area in the 25th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored KV Schoonwater's protests and gave Marc Saelens a yellow card for diving instead. Marc Saelens hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. In the 27th minute Gregorie Kloots shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnoldo Salamon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vinicio Muc took the ball and in the 28 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Nicky Rauvoets. Nicky Rauvoets dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. In the 31st match minute, KV Schoonwater was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marc Saelens to maneuver through the defense. Gregorie Kloots blasted a shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Arnoldo Salamon having to make a save. Nicky Rauvoets showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cesar Criston, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. KV Schoonwater's Boris Paelinck got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vinicio Muc in the 44th minute of play forced KV Schoonwater's goalkeeper Nicky Rauvoets to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Vinicio Muc's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nicky Rauvoets was relentless in the 46th minute of the game. Marc Saelens hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-1 at half-time.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gregorie Kloots stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ludo De Maerschalckx's late challenge caught a Gelp 22's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ludo De Maerschalckx helped the player get up and apologised. A hard shot by Zacarias Laffitte from long distance, 69 minutes into the match, got Nicky Rauvoets's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Diederiek Gijselinckx received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Arnoldo Salamon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 72 minutes into the match, Vinicio Muc dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Nicky Rauvoets, 4-3. 77 minutes into the match, Pieter-Jan Roelandts had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Arnoldo Salamon. Gelp 22's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Pieter-Jan Roelandts was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-3. 82 minutes into the match, KV Schoonwater's goal looked a bit too open when Cesar Criston came free, but Nicky Rauvoets reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The KV Schoonwater fans cheered their team off the field, for while Gelp 22 had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
