Carlos Fernando Trancoso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Ceferino Nabar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Grêmio Papão de WC's Moisés da Silveira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aquiles Meo in the 9th minute of play. In the 12th minute Ovidio Flor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Moisés da Silveira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 18 played minutes Grêmio Papão de WC got a freekick which was hit by Clóvis Faria. Victor Gonza scored 0-1 in the 22nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Moisés da Silveira, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Alberto Barros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ceferino Nabar having to interfere. Grêmio Papão de WC made a substitution. Luiz Fábio Vinhas replaced Eduardo Miranda. Grêmio Papão de WC's Renato Netto was substituted for Alberto Barros. In the 40thth minute of the game Aquiles Meo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Grêmio Papão de WC's Moisés da Silveira was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Moisés da Silveira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Faustino Harkaitz, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. Carlos Fernando Trancoso hit a great freekick 48 minutes into the match. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Renato Netto was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aquiles Meo in the 63rd minute of play forced Grêmio Papão de WC's goalkeeper Moisés da Silveira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Grêmio Papão de WC's Carlos Fernando Trancoso got his second yellow card of the match in the 64th minute. The referee ordered Carlos Fernando Trancoso off the ground. The supporters of Lengua de Lobo booed when Grêmio Papão de WC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. After some careless play in the Grêmio Papão de WC defense, Victor Gonza kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Moisés da Silveira. The Grêmio Papão de WC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Moisés da Silveira should have stopped the shot. Moisés da Silveira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aquiles Meo, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. Moisés da Silveira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ovidio Flor in the 90th minute of the match. In the 92nd minute, Victor Gonza got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Aquiles Meo kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. Wilton Monteiro took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 96th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Ceferino Nabar. Lengua de Lobo's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line.
