The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Nicolas Zapata fell near the penalty area in the 2nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored ATE AFC's protests and gave Nicolas Zapata a yellow card for diving instead. Higinio Garikoitz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Halvdan Thingstad, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. After a rather tough play, Untte BK's Gjermund Winger got a free kick in the 12th minute. A collision led to Untte BK getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Oddbjørn Pettersen hit a great ball. 16 minutes into the match, Conrado Ilixo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Eilert Østmo. Untte BK's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Conrado Ilixo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. When Conrado Ilixo came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the ATE AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Conrado Ilixo couldn't finish the play. Leonides Isadore lost his temper 24 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In the 23rd minute, one of ATE AFC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for ATE AFC. The referee gave Untte BK a penalty, 25 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Tormod Høgset, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of ATE AFC's Higinio Garikoitz. 1-1. In the 30th minute there was a penalty for Untte BK. Tormod Høgset stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Higinio Garikoitz. 1-2. Higinio Garikoitz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Øivind Ege in the 32nd minute of play. Eilert Østmo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gustavo Librić in the 36th minute. Conrado Ilixo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Eilert Østmo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Halvdan Thingstad in the 41st minute of play forced ATE AFC's goalkeeper Higinio Garikoitz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-3 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Halvdan Thingstad to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, ATE AFC's Nicolas Zapata got a free kick in the 52nd minute. The supporters of Untte BK booed when ATE AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nicolas Zapata didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in ATE AFC's zone, Tormod Høgset stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Higinio Garikoitz came out of the goal and Tormod Høgset tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 56 minutes, Halvdan Thingstad managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Untte BK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Halvdan Thingstad was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 58thth minute of the game Halvdan Thingstad who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but ATE AFC's Higinio Garikoitz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Conrado Ilixo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thomas Reppen charged in rather forcefully in the 61st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Thomas Reppen the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Untte BK's Thomas Reppen got a free kick in the 61st minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Halvdan Thingstad got free with Higinio Garikoitz in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gustavo Librić in the 78th minute of play forced Untte BK's goalkeeper Eilert Østmo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Conrado Ilixo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some careless play in the Untte BK defense, Gustavo Librić kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Eilert Østmo. The Untte BK fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Eilert Østmo should have stopped the shot.
