Ben Bower hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. In the 13th minute Fleming Benton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Åke Björling saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Åke Björling stood somewhat misplaced when Fleming Benton came free in front of goal and shot 1-1 to the left of him in the 14 minute. After a rather tough play, Melbourne 007's Clark Connolly got a free kick in the 17th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jack Eklund in the 19th minute of play forced Melbourne 007's goalkeeper Jasmine Kuch to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 19th minute, Rusty Freeman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 21 minutes, Simon Kinell mouthed his way into the referee's book. Åke Björling made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Fleming Benton stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Åke Björling came out of the goal in the 53rd minute to try and stop a shot by Melbourne 007's Brook Yard. But to his dismay, Brook Yard quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-1. Brook Yard took the ball and in the 57 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Åke Björling. Åke Björling dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-1. In the 62nd minute, Brook Yard left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Melbourne 007 fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 6-1. Motala's Åke Björling played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fleming Benton in the 67th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Anton Åberg during the 68th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 68th match minute, Motala was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anton Åberg to maneuver through the defense. When Brendan Rennie fell near the penalty area in the 70th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Melbourne 007's protests and gave Brendan Rennie a yellow card for diving instead. Åke Björling made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Brook Yard in the 72nd minute of play. Motala's Åke Björling played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Clark Connolly in the 78th minute of play. A collision led to Motala getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Reine Wallander hit a great ball. Fleming Benton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Åke Björling tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fleming Benton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Åke Björling showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fleming Benton in the 94th minute of the match. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Melbourne 007 had played much better football throughout.
