The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 9 minutes into the game, Luís Guilherme Dionísio was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Academia B.F.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave ROJO the free kick. In the 9th minute, Luís Guilherme Dionísio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Marco Aurelio lost his temper 11 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. The supporters of ROJO booed when Academia B.F. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marco Aurelio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Belmiro Godoi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcelo Llorian in the 13th minute of the match. In the 15th minute, ROJO's Marcelo Llorian dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. Belmiro Godoi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Javier Palben, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 22 played minutes Academia B.F. got a freekick which was hit by Ramón Paulista. In the 27th match minute, ROJO was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcelo Llorian to maneuver through the defense. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Erik Pereira during the 28th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Humberto Santio stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Erik Pereira kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. In the 53rd match minute, Academia B.F. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juvenal Cosme to maneuver through the defense. 75 minutes into the match, ROJO's Marcelo Llorian broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. If Luís Guilherme Dionísio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 86th minute, Tiburcio Jenaro had to leave the field with a concussion. After 86 minutes, Ramón Paulista mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Academia B.F. and the ROJO players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 88th minute, Ramón Paulista hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
