The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Montevideo's Giovani Salgado proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 5th minute of the match, managed to save Montevideo from getting a goal against them. When the match had gone on for 9 minutes, Deivid Vinhas put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Cordeal Pantojas. 14 minutes into the match, Almir de Sena notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Club Olimpia's Cordeal Pantojas. Cordeal Pantojas was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Deivid Vinhas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Giovani Salgado was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Cebo Morejon showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-2 in the 22 minute of play. 25 minutes into the match, Montevideo's goal looked a bit too open when Cebo Morejon came free, but Giovani Salgado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Giovani Salgado made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cebo Morejon in the 27th minute. Cordeal Pantojas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Deivid Vinhas, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. In the 39th match minute, Club Olimpia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cordarrol Tama to maneuver through the defense. In the 41st minute, Almir de Sena got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Montevideo booed when Club Olimpia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aquiles Saavedra didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Montevideo's Almir de Sena got a free kick in the 44th minute.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Deivid Vinhas made a kick off. In the 51st minute, Deivid Vinhas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Club Olimpia's Cordeal Pantojas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Natanael Fernandez in the 52nd minute of play. In the 55thth minute of the game Deivid Vinhas who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Club Olimpia's Cordeal Pantojas was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Giovani Salgado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cebo Morejon, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. In the 57th minute Isias Gorbin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Giovani Salgado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Giovani Salgado showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Isias Gorbin in the 62nd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Medero Quevedo in the 67th minute of play forced Montevideo's goalkeeper Giovani Salgado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 73 minutes into the match, Montevideo's goal looked a bit too open when Aquiles Saavedra came free, but Giovani Salgado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 75 minutes into the match, Montevideo's goal looked a bit too open when Medero Quevedo came free, but Giovani Salgado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Deivid Vinhas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Club Olimpia's Isias Gorbin in the 90th minute got a chance for a shot 90th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Montevideo's goalie prevented a goal. In the 91st minute, Rafinha Zanette hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Natanael Fernandez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Cordeal Pantojas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cebo Morejon scored 3-3 in the 96th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Giovani Salgado, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
