The audience thought a goal was coming when Eraldo Trotta got free with Carlo Pelati in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 20th minute Edmondo Gazza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlo Pelati saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 22 minutes into the match, Supremacy Catania FC's goal looked a bit too open when Antonello Garibaldi came free, but Enzo Iezzi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Enzo Iezzi didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Antonello Garibaldi went, in the 43rd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. Eraldo Trotta received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Carlo Pelati came out and tried to block the shot, but Eraldo Trotta slotted it home off the left post making it 3-1 in the 48th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.

Florian Bergomi charged in rather forcefully in the 68th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Florian Bergomi the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Medoacus Maior booed when Supremacy Catania FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Florian Bergomi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Carlo Pelati took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dario Saraceni, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
