Paulo Napier took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anier Eudoxio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Aurelio Aztore charged in rather forcefully in the 21st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Aurelio Aztore the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Yalapa's Aurelio Aztore got a free kick in the 21st minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Yalapa's Anier Eudoxio slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Paulo Napier. That made the score 2-0 after 24 minutes of play. Armando Padro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Everardo Sal came out of the goal in the 35th minute to try and stop a shot by Club Sports Pergamino's Lorenzo Marin. But to his dismay, Lorenzo Marin quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. 39 minutes into the match, Club Sports Pergamino's goal looked a bit too open when Anier Eudoxio came free, but Paulo Napier reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Club Sports Pergamino defense, Marco Gaston kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Paulo Napier. The Club Sports Pergamino fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Paulo Napier should have stopped the shot. Marco Gaston scored 5-1 in the 44th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Paulo Napier, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Silvano Resto, 48 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 5-1 at half-time.

After 52 minutes, Armando Padro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Yalapa and the Club Sports Pergamino players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 52nd minute, Armando Padro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 54 minutes into the game, Yalapa's Marco Gaston nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Paulo Napier made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 6-1. When Isaac Dolfos fell near the penalty area in the 58th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Club Sports Pergamino's protests and gave Isaac Dolfos a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Club Sports Pergamino's Isaac Dolfos got a free kick in the 58th minute. Isaac Millrick kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. Silvano Resto took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 67th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Paulo Napier. Club Sports Pergamino's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 74th minute Marco Gaston shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulo Napier saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 77th minute, Anier Eudoxio ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Paulo Napier was frozen by the shot and now it was 7-1. In the 82nd minute, Armando Padro ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Paulo Napier was frozen by the shot and now it was 8-1. The supporters of Club Sports Pergamino booed when Yalapa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aurelio Aztore didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Ricardo Clis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. There was no doubt that Yalapa were the better team. Yalapa's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
